I am an active writer and Spoken Word artist! I perform what I like to call, “Ra-Poetry.” I mix it up with other musical genres like Hip Hop, House, Jungle and Drum ‘n’ Bass, and my performances are always intense and full of passion. I’m all about expressing my opinions and telling it like it is. I have performed at some pretty cool festivals like Northern Green Gathering, Tribal Warrior Festival, Leeds West Indian Carnival and even the Punchbowl Festival in Wiltshire. My debut album, “Product of Society,” is set to drop on March 8th, 2024. Make sure you look out for it!
In 2003, I enrolled at Life Force productions at Host Media centre, to learn Music Production. I gained my qualification. I wrote lyrics and performed solo on the local live gig scene using backing tracks made by local producers. I performed alongside Shaggy at Leeds Carnival in 2010 with 2 backing singers and six dancers and live band. I went on to perform at local live gig spaces, including The Primrose Pub, Belgrave Music Hall, Musiquarium, Eiger Studios, Northern Guitars, Headrow House and a Love Music Hate Racism event alongside Chipmonk and at the Leeds Black Music Festival alongside Shaggy.
I joined a Jungle band called Hayashi for 8 years while bringing up my three sons. We gigged all around the country. We headlined Punchbowl Festival in Codford for 6 years. I enrolled in university in 2015. I studied Entertainment Management and graduated in 2018 with a 2.1.
I went back to live performances after university. I performed in the BBC Live Lounge in 2019. During the pandemic, I spent the time preparing my album, Product of Society. I collated a few songs that I had been performing live, and added a few new to complete the album. The first single ‘Check Me Out’, launched on the 21/1/22 in Northern Guitars, Leeds.
Last year I performed at Northern Green Gathering, Tribal Warrior & Punchbowl Festival (solo this time). I collaborated with artists in different genres and supported 90s band Arrested Development.
I plan to release my self-funded album on 8th March 2024.
